Become a Camper

Any person between 9 and 17 years of age can apply to be a camper at an LPC camp.

Campers enjoy some time together in the cosy room at Freedom, New Hampshire, in 2007.

Camps are usually divided into one of two age groups: camps for Younger Kids between 9 and 14 years of age and camps for Older Kids between 14 and 17 years of age. Depending on the size and availability of the campsite, camps can consist of as few as 14-16 campers or as many as 34-36 campers. They can range anywhere from two to six weeks in duration, and are held in several different countries each summer. There is usually a mixture of at least eight different nationalities in each camp.

All campers are expected to attend the camp for its entire duration, as LPC places great emphasis on building the community aspect of the camper and counselor group. Our overview of Life in Camp contains further details on what LPC expects from campers and what campers should expect from LPC.

Camper applications need to be received by LPC no later than December 1 in order to receive full consideration. Camps are organized during LPC’s annual “Christmas Conference,” which is held at the end of each year in the Ecole d’Humanité, Hasliberg-Goldern, Switzerland. For further information on applying to attend camp, contact LPC.
